GROVE CITY, Pa. --
Ben Peticca (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) claimed individual medalist honors at the McBride-Behringer-Allen Invitational, which was hosted by Grove City College at Grove City Country Club on Thursday afternoon. The W&J men's golf team finished in second place out of six competing teams at the event.
Peticca carded a 73 to win the individual title by two shots.
Juan Caputi (Bogota, Colombia/Colegio Los Nogales) tied for fourth place after posting a round of 77.
Garrett Barilar (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) joined Peticca and Caputi as top 10 finishers. Barilar tied for eighth place with a 79.
Dawson Thornton (Mooresville, N.C. / Pinelake Prep) and
Sean Adamski (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area) rounded out the top five for W&J. Thornton logged an 18-hole score of 85 while Adamski shot a round of 90.
Westminster took the team title with a score of 306 and W&J was second at 314. Grove City (331), Saint Vincent (333), Thiel (346) and Waynesburg (357) also competed at the event.
W&J hosts the Rossin Memorial Invitational on Monday, April 12 at 11 a.m. The annual event will take place at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg.
