AUSTIN, Texas -- Sean Doran (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) and Alex Keith (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) were selected to the 2020-21 Academic All-America ® Football Second Team, as chosen after a vote by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Doran and Keith become the 59th and 60th student-athletes at W&J to earn Academic All-American status since 1978.

This marks the first time since 1989 that W&J had multiple football players receive Academic All-America status in the same year. Conor Manning was the last to earn the distinction, as he was a member of the first team in 2019.

Doran has compiled a 3.59 cumulative grade-point average while studying accounting. Doran, one of the top linebackers in the conference, was awarded All-PAC laurels for a third straight season. During his three-year career at W&J, he has 163 total tackles, seven sacks, three fumble recoveries and an interception returned for a touchdown against Saint Vincent in 2019.

Keith maintains a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 while studying biology. Keith put together a monster 2019 season and earned All-PAC Honorable Mention recognition. Keith recorded 54 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and recovered four fumbles during the 2019 campaign. Keith a 52-yard fumble recovery and return for touchdown in a 59-0 win over Thiel in 2019.

Both were eligible after earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in Division III District IV in June.

Sixteen of the 51 members of the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division III Football teams have at least a 3.90 GPA.
