MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) paced the Presidents on the opening day of the 2023 Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day event is being held at The Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park.
Pennington raced to a runner-up finish in the 10K with a personal-best time of 32:51.14. His teammate,
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth Center), clocked in with a time of 33:29.72 to place seventh.
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) recorded a qualifying time of 15.22 in the 110-meter hurdles. That time was tops in Baughman's heat and ranks second overall heading into Friday's finals in the event at PACs.
Karson Kline (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) also qualified for the finals in the 110-hurdles with a time of 16.59, which was eighth Thursday.
Anthony Cestaro (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) logged a qualifying time of 11.03 in the 100 Meters. That mark is a collegiate best time for the freshman. Cestaro was fourth best in prelims heading into Friday's finals in the 100 Meters at PACs.
Nate Sciarro (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) and
Andrew Bauer (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Triple Jump. Sciarro had a mark of 12.54 meters (41-01.75) and Bauer came in at 12.29 meters (40-04.00). The W&J men are tied for fourth place with 15 team points through 4 of the 19 scored events.
On the women's side,
Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) posted a qualifying time of 15.18 in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles.
That time is a new collegiate best for Stroup. The time was third best overall heading into Friday's finals in the 100 Hurdles at PACs.
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) was ninth in the prelims of the 100 Hurdles. Schneider finished with a collegiate-best time of 17.07.
