TRAFFORD, Pa. -- For his role in a doubleheader sweep Saturday, Washington & Jefferson freshman infielder Josh Dezenzo (Alliance, Ohio / Marlington) earned recognition as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week. 

Dezenzo powered the Presidents to a doubleheader sweep Saturday at Thiel by totaling five hits, six RBIs and three runs scored in the sweep of the Tomcats. He went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in game one and followed that with a home run and a double in game two with two more RBIs and a pair of runs scored, as he slugged 1.500 in his return to the line-up.

W&J opens the final week of the regular season with a 25-11 overall record and a 15-3 mark in Presidents' Athletic Conference, which is currently tied for the top spot in the league standings. 

The Presidents are slated to host a pair of doubleheaders at Ross Memorial Park this week. W&J welcomes Otterbein for a non-conference twinbill on Wednesday, May 3 before closing the regular season with Senior Day against Allegheny on Saturday, May 6. The first pitch for the doubleheader with the Gators is slated for 1 p.m.
