W&J Football to be broadcast on Pittsburgh's CW, KDKA.com this fall

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- KDKA-TV announced Wednesday that six Washington & Jefferson College football games will be broadcast on the Pittsburgh's CW and KDKA.com as well as the CBS News Pittsburgh App this fall.

"Washington & Jefferson College is very excited to showcase NCAA Division III football on The CW this fall," said Scott McGuinness, Director of Athletics at W&J. "College football Saturdays are filled with pageantry and tradition at every level and viewers will enjoy talented, hardworking student-athletes playing in the competitive Presidents' Athletic Conference. We can't wait to kick off the season at Cameron Stadium."

The broadcasts will be produced by JRM Video Production, a Pittsburgh-based video production company specializing in live sports. JRM Video Production has broadcast W&J football the past two seasons. Calling the games will be PAC play-by-play announcer Austin Bechtold, with sideline reporters Matt Farago and Robert Mangino, and color analyst to be determined.

"We are very pleased to be able to air college football on WPCW," said KDKA-TV President and General Manager Chris Cotugno. "And especially excited to spotlight nearby schools from the Presidents' Athletic Conference, for our local communities."

All five W&J home games will be broadcast on Pittsburgh's CW, KDKA.com and the CBS News Pittsburgh app this fall. In addition, W&J's road contest at Geneva on Nov. 4 will also be broadcast through the agreement.

W&J recorded its 39th consecutive winning season last fall when they completed the 2022 season with a strong 9-2 overall record. The Presidents capped the season with a convincing 35-18 win over Hobart College in the ECAC Asa S. Bushnell Bowl at Cameron Stadium on Nov. 19. The Presidents were ranked No. 24 in the annual National 2023 College Football Preview Magazine Top 25 poll presented by Lindy's Sports.
