WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio – The W&J women's golf team closed action day one action at the JCU Fall Invitational this evening. The team shot 52 strokes over par, resting in sixth place.

Top W&J Individual: MacKenzie Schmeltz (Edwardsburg, Mich./Saint Joseph) finished as the Presidents top golfer after round one. Schmeltz shot six over par the first round of the invite, currently resting tied for fourth. She currently sits four strokes away from a two-way tie for second place and five strokes away from the current first-place golfer.

Dinah Bailey (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) pauses play on the course as the Presidents second-highest ranked golfer tied for 12th, having shot nine strokes over par.
Megan Joyce (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) sits next in line for the Presidents after finishing in a tie for 20
th-place, having shot 13 stokes over par.
Lauren Tekely (Glendale, W.Va./John Marshall) holds a tie for 44
th place, having shot 24 strokes over par. Rounding out the Presidents top five golfers is
Abby Tikey (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville), currently in a tie for 53
rd after shooting 32 shots over par.

Top Team: Ashland currently sits atop the 11-team field as the top team after shooting 33 strokes over par as a unit. Ashland rests four strokes ahead of DePauw (+37) and eight ahead of Westminster (+41).
Top Individual: Ally Siewert of Wooster currently tops the 62 golfers after having shot just one stroke over par. Sammi Miller of Ashland and Becky Williams of Ashland each sit one stroke away from Siewert in competition for the JCU Fall Invitational crown.
