TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team racked up their first weekly conference award of the new season as freshman Thomas Margison (Silver Spring, Md. / Our Lady of Good Counsel) earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. 

Margison finished second on the team at Olivet's Lou Collins Memorial Invitational after finishing 10th in his first collegiate golf outing. He finished with a low round of 75 (+3) on day one of the invite and recorded a total 152 (+8) score over the weekend, helping the Presidents finish second in the 10-team tournament.

The Presidents return to the course on the road, heading to Lewisburg, Pa. for The Gauntlet (Sept. 15-16).
