WARREN, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team wrapped the fall portion of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships in second place. The team shot a combined 609 through two rounds, 33 shots over par.

Top W&J Individual: Matthew Morelli (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) was the top golfer for the Presidents after the opening two rounds of golf in Warren. The sophomore shot a 146 in his first conference championships appearance to finish in a tie for third.
Notables: William Ainsworth (Woldingham, Surrey/Reigate Grammar School) finished just behind Morelli in the top 10 at the conference championships. Ainsworth shot 148 in two rounds, finishing four shots over par to place sixth.
Ryan Steigerwald (Mars, Pa./Mars Area) and
Alexander Robins (Buckinghamshire, England/Bedford School) each finished in a five-way tie for 18
th place as they shot 158.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: The Allegheny Gators hold a nine-shot lead over the Presidents, having shot 600 as a team in two rounds. The Gators are 24 shots over par.
Top Individual: Luke Gronbeck of Grove City posted an impressive performance having shot a 139 through the first two rounds of conference championship golf. Gronbeck is five shots under par with a six-stroke lead over the next highest golfer.
