TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College volleyball freshman
Lola Jacobs (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) has been awarded the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Nov. 10). This is the second time that Jacobs has been selected for this award.
Jacobs helped the Presidents to a 2-0 week, hitting .514 out of the middle. In Tuesday's 3-1 win over Franciscan, Jacobs tallied 13 kills on 23 swings to hit .478 for the match, while adding three digs and two blocks (one solo, one assisted). She followed with an impressive .583 hitting percentage in Saturday's sweep at Chatham, recording seven kills on 12 attempts to help the Presidents clinch the No. 1 seed in the PAC South Division. Jacobs also contributed three digs and two assisted blocks in the victory.
W&J is set to host their PAC Quarterfinals match in the Salvitti Family Gymnasium on Tuesday (Nov. 11) against the No. 4 seed from the PAC North Division, Grove City College. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
