CANTON, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams continued competition at the annual Malone Invitational hosted by the Division II Malone Pioneers. The men remain in sixth place while the women stayed in 11th.
Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) led the way for the men's team on day two with a sixth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.06.

Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area),
Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and
Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) raced to a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:36.19.
Harden kept up his impressive start to the Malone Invitational with an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. The captain raced to a mark of 1:01.09.

Brian Lowry (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology),
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) and
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) finished eighth in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The unit finished with a time of 7:25.03, dropping 12 seconds from their season best.
Yuan raced to a 13
th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 1:47.66.
Perry Barnhart (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished 14
th in the 400-yard IM with a personal-best time of 4:45.79. Lohr raced his way to 17
th in the 100-yard butterfly with a personal-best time of 53.71.
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) continued her productive freshman season with a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Caron raced to a season-best time of 1:08.33.
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) paced her way to a ninth-place finish in the 400-yard IM with a season-best time of 5:09.10.
The relay unit of
Sophie Talamonti (Flushing, Ohio/Union Local),
Rachel Xu (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny),
Audrey Kough (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg) and
Andrea DeLong (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished 17
th in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 10:09.66. In the event, Caron raced her way to a personal-best in the 200-yard freestyle split.
The team of Caron, Malone,
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park) and
Mela Barnhart (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished 18
th with a time of 2:02.92 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Gutierrez finished 22
nd in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.19.
W&J returns to the pool for the final day of the Malone Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 22). Preliminary action is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. with finals to follow.
