GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams concluded action with day four of four at the 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. The men's team finished in third place with a total of 697 points, an increase of just over 60 points from last year's event. The women's team finished in fifth place with a total of 311 points.
The Presidents were awarded two yearly conference championship awards. Sophomore
Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)) was named the 2026 Male Diver of the Year for the second year in a row. This is the first time that a W&J diver was selected for this award since current coach
Josh Vasko completed the feat during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. Vasko took home the 2026 Men's Diving Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season as well.
In the first session of the day, Junior
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) broke a decade-old school record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.57. Jeffries was also the opening leg of the men's 400-yard freestyle relay team, which placed third with a time of 3:09.96. The relay squad also included freshman
Corbin Likar (Amity, Pa./Trinity), sophomore
Brian Lowry (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology), and junior
Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin).
Sophomore
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) raced to a second-place finish in the men's 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.70.
Marks and sophomore
Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) each set personal bests en route to fourth-place finishes in their events on day four. Marks swam a time of 47.35 in the 100-yard freestyle. Glessner finished the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.02.
Senior
Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) finished in eighth place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.95. Harden was also selected as W&J's representative on the PAC Men's Swim & Dive Sportsmanship Team.
The 400-yard freestyle relay headlined the women's results on the final day of competition at the conference championships. The squad, consisting of Sophie Garrett,
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello),
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park), and
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin), finished in sixth place with a time of 3:54.76.
Malone had an additional seventh-place finish individually. The junior captain set a personal best in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:37.08.
Garrett picked up an additional eighth-place finish for the Presidents. The junior swam 2:21.20 in the 200-yard backstroke event.
Senior captain
Audrey Kough (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg) was chosen as the W&J representative on the PAC Women's Sportsmanship Team.
Lloyd and the diving coaches return to action on Friday (Feb. 27) as the postseason continues at the NCAA Division III Diving Regional Championships. The two-day event will take place in Rochester, N.Y., hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology.
