CANTON, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams capped competition at the annual Malone Invitational hosted by the Division II Malone Pioneers. The men rose to fifth place while the women remained in 11th.
Leading the charge for the men's team was sophomore
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park). Yuan raced his way to a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.84. In the same event during B final,
Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) reached a season-best by 14.64 seconds.
Naelan Brooks (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) also reached a personal-best mark in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:40.17 to place 24
th.
Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)) led the W&J divers with a fourth-place finish in the 3-meter dive, scoring a total 272.20 points.
Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) capped a productive week with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.24.
The relay unit of
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area),
Corbin Likar (Amity, Pa./Trinity),
Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) and
Brian Lowry (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology) paced their way to an eighth-place finish and time of 3:16.09 in the 400-freestyle relay. Jeffires reached a season-best split in the 100-yard freestyle, while Likar hit a personal-best in the 100-yard freestyle split from the relay start.

Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) raced to a 13
th-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best time by 12.5 seconds, 2:22.65.
Jeffries finished 15
th in the 100-yard freestyle in the short distance event, swimming to a time of 48.49.
Mac Kishel (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) took 25
th in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a mark of 20:03.42.
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) led the women's side with a sixth-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle and a mark of 18:35.79.

Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) finished with a season-best time of 2:37.21 in the 200-yard breaststroke. The junior's best time in the event this season dropped by 10.27 seconds.
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park) took 11
th in the 200-yard butterfly with a personal best time of 2:34.26. The freshman dropped her previous best time by 9.96 seconds.
The relay unit of Caron,
Mela Barnhart (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan), Malone and Gutierrez wrapped the top finishers for the Presidents in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group finished with a time of 4:08.24 in the event.
The Presidents return to action after the holiday break, hosting the W&J Diving Invitational on Friday (Dec. 5). The invite is scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m.
