Six Presidents Listed on CSC Women’s Soccer Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Six members of the Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team earned spots on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Teams.
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games or starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
 
Securing spots on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams were Maura Heberle (Georgetown, Pa./South Side Beaver), Alexa Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./OLSH), Kendall Obley (Buena Vista, Pa./McKeesport), Rhyan Smith (Coal Center, Pa./Elizabeth-Forward), Tori DeVere (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), and Linnea Johansson (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop).
 
Obley and Taylor each have been selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists. The duo will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. Voting closes Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 11:59 PM (ET).
 
Heberle appeared in all 18 games this season, starting 15 of them. The junior had six goals on the season, including two game winners. She also had two assists to round out her 14 total points. In the classroom, Heberle currently holds a 3.51 GPA in child development and education. This is the first year that Heberle has been selected for the Academic All-District® Team.
 
Taylor started all 18 games this season for W&J. The sophomore scored five goals this season, with two game winners as part of the Presidents' front three. Taylor added an assist to her name to round out her 11 total points this season. Her performances have gotten Taylor to be selected to the Fall PAC Academic Honor Roll last season. This is the first time that Taylor has been selected for the Academic All-District® Team.
 
Obley's made appearances in all 18 games this past season, starting 14 of them. The senior captain scored one goal and an assist throughout the 2025 season. This is the second time that Obley has been named on the Academic All-District® Team. She currently holds a 3.78 GPA in psychology and Spanish. Obley has been inducted in the Psi-Chi Honors Society and has been on the Dean's List for five semesters.

Smith appeared in 17 of the Presidents' 18 games in the midfield this season. She scored one goal and three assists on the year. This is the first year that Smith has been selected to be on the Academic All-District® Team. She currently holds a 3.96 GPA in business administration.
 
DeVere helped anchor the Presidents' back line for all 18 games this season. The senior played a role in the team's four shutouts this season. A four-year starter for W&J, DeVere currently holds a 3.87 GPA in psychology with a minor in sociology. She has been inducted into the Psi-Chi Honors Society and has been on the Dean's List every semester.
 
Johansson made appearances in 17 contests this season on the Presidents' defensive line, playing a role in all four shutout wins. The senior has surpassed 1,000 minutes played throughout her W&J career. Johansson currently holds a 3.62 GPA in physics with minors in mathematics and philosophy. Johansson has been inducted into the Sigma Pi Sigma and Order of Omega honors societies, along with being a four-time Dean's List member and two-time Alpha/Beta Scholar.
 
W&J has placed at least one women's soccer student-athlete on the Academic All-District Teams in seven consecutive years.
