KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washington & Jefferson College Women's Soccer program received an elite level distinction from the United Soccer Coaches when the organization recently released its 2025 Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipients.

The Presidents were the lone program to receive the Platinum Award, which is given to collegiate programs that did not receive any yellow or red cards during the totality of the season.

"I am thrilled that our team was able to be recognized for their character and class with this award. This group had consistently played hard and done so with respect for the game," said W&J head coach Dan Dubois. "No doubt we were fortunate to avoid a card from time to time for a heavy tackle, but we always treated the opponent, the officials, and ourselves with respect and this award is in recognition of that."

Programs were recognized that exhibited fair play, good sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they were shown by referees throughout the season based on the number of cards accumulated divided by the number of games played.

In all, just 45 programs across all levels of collegiate soccer received either the Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award.

While the W&J women were the lone program to receive the Platinum Award. Two teams were recipients of the Gold Award, which is given to teams with a percentage of cards ranging from 1-10%. A total of 23 teams claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate a percentage of cards ranging from 11-30%, while the Bronze Award went to 19 teams, which is presented to teams that accumulate a percentage of cards ranging from 31-50%.
