Swimming & Diving Wraps Dual with Division II Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams were both downed by Division II Ashland. The men lost 227-59 while the women were downed 240-38.
 
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) led the W&J women against Ashland with a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.77. She also placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.84.
 
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) took a third-place mark in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:17.42. Andrea DeLong (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) also finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 13:26.94.
 
Sophie Talamonti (Flushing, Ohio/Union Local) raced her way to a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a mark of 6:34.80.
 
Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)) led the W&J men with a first-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 264.60. The sophomore standout also placed second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 210.68.
 
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) had a productive day in the pool for the Presidents. The junior's top placement of the day was in the 100-yard backstroke, racing to a second-place finish and time of 56.38. Jeffries also placed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.01.
 
Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.20. The captain also took fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:35.14.
 
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) worked his way to a pair of third place finishes on the day. Yuan took third in the 200-yard butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle with respective times of 2:05.36 and 5:05.03.
 
Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) wrapped the men's top finishers with a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 56.99.
 
The Presidents return to the pool for a weekend long invitational at Division II Malone. The first day of events on Thursday (Nov. 20) is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
