TRAFFORD, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College wrestling freshman Zane Garner (Washington, Pa./Trinity) has been named Presidents' Athletic Conference Wrestling Newcomer of the Week, announced by the conference Tuesday (Feb. 11).

Garner picked up victories against Muskingum and at the Summa Invitational this past week. In a win over the Fighting Muskies, Garner picked up his first dual victory of the season over Rushi Pata of Muskingum by tech fall (21-4) at 141 pounds. At the Summa Invitational, Garner took seventh in the 133-pound bracket with a 2-2 record, which included an OT win and a first-period pin (1:00) in the seventh place match.

The W&J wrestling team returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 15) for the annual PAC Championships. First bouts are scheduled to kick off at 11:00 a.m.
