UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's golf team closed out the Pennsylvania Classic hosted by Penn State Altoona with a strong day 36-hole performance. The women held the top team slot through each of the two rounds for a total team score of 651 (+75).

Top W&J Individual: Julia Barthelemy (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) finished as the top W&J golfer in second place with a weekend score of 159 (+15). The Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Medalist shot a 78 (+6) on day two and an 81 (+9) on the back 18. The sophomore golfer finished five strokes behind the top golfer at the event.
Notables: Megan Joyce (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) wrapped the Pennsylvania Classic one stroke Barthelemy in third place with a two-round score of 160 (+16). Joyce shot one stroke behind her teammate on day one with a 79 (+7) but matched her efforts on day two with an 81 (+9). Senior
Dinah Bailey (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) finished the weekend knotted in a tie for sixth with a 36-hole score of 166 (+22). Bailey shot a weekend-best 82 (+10) in round one of the event.
MacKenzie Schmeltz (Edwardsburg, Mich./Saint Joseph) placed close behind in ninth place with a weekend score of 168 (+24). Schmeltz matched Barthelemy and Joyce on day two with an 81 (+9).
Lauren Tekely (Glendale, W.Va./John Marshall) rounded out the five golfers for W&J in 12
th after two rounds with a total score of 172 (+28).
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: W&J held the top slot at the Pennsylvania Classic, shooting a combined 651 (+75) as a team between 36 holes. Westminster wrapped the weekend in second, 13 strokes behind the Presidents with a 664 (+88).
Top Individual: Alyssa Rapp of Westminster earned the individual title at the Classic with a 154 (+10) weekend score. Rapp shot an event low 74 (+2) in the first round to edge W&J's Barthelemy and Joyce who trailed five and six strokes behind, respectively.
Up Next: The Presidents return to the Southpointe Golf Club on Monday (April 7) to host the annual Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational. The yearly round of golf is set for an 11:00 a.m. start.
