WASHINGTON, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College baseball seniors Dante DiMatteo (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and Jacob LaDuca (Clarence, N.Y./Canisius) each earned spots on the 2025 D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region teams.

DiMatteo highlighted the All-Region selections for the Presidents as the D3baseball.com Region 7 Pitcher of the Year. He also received All-Region First Team honors from both organizations. LaDuca snagged All-Region Second Team laurels from both organizations.

DiMatteo is the first W&J pitcher to win D3baseball.com Pitcher of the Year since Henry Litman '22 during the 2021 season.

The Presidents' ace followed the same trajectory as Litman, collecting the Presidents' Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year award. DiMatteo is W&J's first PAC Pitcher of the Year since Tyler Hovat '23 in 2023 and the 10th all-time to be awarded the honor in program history.

The senior right-handed pitcher is now a three-time All-PAC selection, making his first appearance on First Team. He finished 9-0 with a 0.83 earned run average and 68 strikeouts in 65.1 innings on the season. The starting battery for the Presidents holds the second-best ERA in all NCAA Divisions (I, II, III). DiMatteo held opposing batters to a .200 batting average with six earned runs given up all season. He collected two PAC Pitcher of the Week honors as well as a PAC All-Tournament laurels in his final campaign.

DiMatteo compiled one of the best statistical seasons for a W&J pitcher in program history this season. The senior hurler topped the W&J record books in career appearances with 61 throughout his career, lowest single-season ERA (Min. 40 innings pitched) with a 0.83 mark and added a save to his W&J career saves record with 16. DiMatteo also moved to second all-time in career strikeouts with 213, second only to Sam Mann '07 who had 250.

LaDuca earns his second All-Region honor with each organization following his final season in Red & Black.

LaDuca also rounds out his career as a four-time All-PAC selection. The final three of which were First Team honors. The senior captain slashed .353 BA/.532 SLG/.467 OBP with 55 hits, 14 doubles, four home runs, 24 RBIs, 16 steals and 28 walks. The 2024 PAC Player of the Year finished fifth in the PAC in runs scored (49), tied for ninth in hits (55), tied for fourth in doubles (14) and third in walks (28). LaDuca was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week as the top shortstop in Division III over the spring break games for the second time of his career this season. LaDuca also racked up his second career PAC Hitter of the Week honor this season.

LaDuca concludes his illustrious career at W&J as one of the best hitters to wear a Presidents uniform. He ranks fifth in career hits (217), third in career doubles (46), second in career runs scored (174), second in career walks (81), third in career stolen bases (54) and fifth in career total bases (306). As the W&J's iron man over the past four seasons, LaDuca ranks fourth in career games (173), third in career at-bats (647) and fourth in career games started (173). On top of his on-paper statistics, LaDuca has been one of the more clutch players W&J has seen in recent memory. He has launched four home runs in the PAC Tournament throughout his career, two of which were game-winning homers to guide the Presidents to two separate PAC titles.

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America teams will be announced the evening of Thursday, May 29 immediately following the Opening Ceremony at the 2025 NCAA Division III World Series in Eastlake, Ohio. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.
