GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team finished up an 18-hole round at the Grove City Invitational. The Presidents placed second, shooting 292 as a team to finish four over par.

William Ainsworth (Woldingham, Surrey/Reigate Grammar School) and senior
Alexander Robins (Buckinghamshire, England/Bedford School) both finished the event in a tie for second place having each shot a 71. They were both one under par and two shots off the leader.
Notables: Sophomore
Matthew Morelli (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) finished tied for eighth, shooting a 73 on the afternoon. Freshman
Shane Williams (Peters Township, Pa./Peters Township) finished tied for 25
th with a five-over-par score of 77.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: The Saint Vincent Bearcats were the Grove City Invitational winners as they combined for a team total of 288, finishing even par.
Top Individual: David Newsom of Saint Vincent finished the round having shot a 69, putting him at three under par to win the invite.
Up Next: The Presidents return to action this weekend when they travel to Bluffton, Ohio, for the Beaver Fall Classic. This two-round event will take place on Saturday (Oct. 4) and Sunday (Oct. 5).
