CANTON, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team wrapped up the first 36 holes of action at the Malone-Glenmoor Fall Invitational in 10
th place. The Presidents tallied a total 621 total team points, resting 45 shots over par.

Matthew Morelli (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) finished the first two rounds of the season opening invite as the Presidents top golfer. Morelli shot a 73 in the first round and a 75 in the second round, combing for a total score of 148. Morelli currently rests four strokes over par in a tie for 15
th place.
Notables: Two additional W&J golfers finished day one within the top 45.
William Ainsworth (Woldingham, Surrey/Reigate Grammar School) rests in 33
rd place with a total score of 153. Ainsworth kickstarted his day, shooting for par (72) in round one, but slipped in the second round with a score of 81.
Shane Williams (Peters Township, Pa./Peters Township) rounded out W&J's top finishers in a tie for 43
rd place with a total score of 157. Similar to the rest of the field, Williams best score came in round one with a 76 before posting an 81 in the last 18 holes of the afternoon.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Division II Hillsdale currently holds a four-shot lead in the 12-team field with 582 team points. The Chargers remained at the top of the field for all 36 holes, posting a 296 team score in the first round and a day best 286 score in the last 18 holes.
Top Individual: Andrew Daily of Division II Wayne State currently is at the top of the player leaderboard with a 139 score through 36 holes.
Up next: The Presidents return for the final round of golf at the Malone-Glenmoor Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 9). Golfers are scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m.
