COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Washington & Jefferson college men's and women's swimming & diving programs were recognized as a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Fall Scholar All-America Teams for their academic achievements, announced by the organization Tuesday (Jan. 20).
The W&J swimming & diving teams, led by eighth year head coach
Matt Rochna, attained a 3.28 cumulative team grade-point average on the men's side and a 3.22 GPA on the women's end. This marks the first time since the fall of 2023 that both men's and women's programs have been recognized as Scholar All-America teams.
A total of 709 teams representing 16,421 student-athletes earned Scholar All-America recognition for their outstanding academic performance across the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA.
To qualify, each team was required to post a team cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the Fall 2025 semester, reflecting a sustained commitment to academic excellence alongside competitive achievement.
The W&J swimming & diving teams return to action on Saturday (Jan. 24) for a meet against the Wooster Fighting Scots. The weekend meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
