GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams concluded day two of the 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Grove City College. The men moved up one spot to second place while the women remained in fifth.
Sophomore
Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)) headlined the evening, securing the PAC championship in the men's 3-meter dive with a total score of 437.52. Lloyd secured his second conference championship in as many years, improving on his score by 75 points. Junior
Will Angus (Grafton, W.Va./Grafton) and senior
Melvin McRae (Lillington, N.C./Overhills) also picked up crucial points for the Presidents with second and third place finishes in the event.
The team of
Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward),
Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area),
Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), and
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) swam to a third-place finish in the men's 400-yard medley relay. The relay team finished with a time of 3:32.26, only 1.5 seconds away from the school record.
The men put together strong performances in the freestyle events of the night. Jeffries put down a personal best time of 21.26, only 0.02 seconds off the school record en route to a fourth-place finish. In the distance events, sophomore
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) swam to a seventh-place finish in the men's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.81.
In the men's 200-yard individual medley, Glessner set a personal best time of 1:59.82 and finished in fifth place.
Sophomore
Amiyah White (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) continued W&J's impressive performances off the diving boards with a second-place finish in the women's 1-meter dive. White also improved on her score from last season by just under 30 points.
The relay team consisting of
Sophia Garrett (Cincinnati, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy),
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park), and
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) raced to a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:18.13.
Caron individually swam to a seventh-place finish in the women's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:21.51.
Prelims for Day Three of the 2025-26 PAC Championships will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 20).
