HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team (0-5) falls 7-0 to the Rhodes Lynx (4-4) in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Although the Lynx took the doubles point, W&J showed their fight. Seniors
Nate Clarke (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) and
Alex Duing (South Park, Pa./South Park) used their experience to extend their No. 2 doubles match but ultimately fell in a tight 6-3 set.
The Presidents continued to work at earning a team point in the singles matches, but the Lynx were too strong of opponents today, taking all six singles points. Freshman
Colby Peters (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) made some necessary adjustments to help improve his scoreline from set one to set two.
W&J close out their Hilton Head trip with one final match against the Penn State Behrend Lions. Play will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Spring Lake Racquet Club.
