TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College junior Brendan Cruz (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (April 27). This is the second time that Cruz has been chosen with this award.
 
Cruz finished the week with a 0.00 ERA and just two hits allowed in nine innings of work through two appearances against ranked Baldwin Wallace and Chatham. In game two of Saturday's twinbill with Chatham, Cruz held the Cougar offense hitless until the eighth inning before giving up a single one out into the frame. He earned the win in a 3-0 victory with eight scoreless innings and four strikeouts. Against Baldwin Wallace, Cruz pitched one inning of relief and only gave up one hit.  
 
W&J returns to Ross Memorial Park on Monday (April 28) for a single-game nonconference matchup against the Marietta Pioneers. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
