Frostburg State Uses Big Second Quarter To Defeat W&J

Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. -- Frostburg State scored 11 times during the second quarter, including four by Ryan Serio, to earn a 24-3 men's lacrosse victory over Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday night at Bobcat Stadium. 

The Bobcats (4-0) outshot the Presidents (3-1) by a 69-15 margin and received five goals and one assist from Serio.  The game was tied 1-1 with two minutes left in the first quarter after goals from FSU's Spenser Love and W&J's Tim Angell before the Bobcats exploded with seven unanswered goals. 

Zachary Fredericks ended the Bobcat run at the 10:39 mark to bring the Presidents to within 8-2, but the Bobcats added six more tallies to post a 14-3 halftime advantage.  W&J's third and final goal at the 5:31 mark came from its goalie Conor Crowe during a man-down situation. 

Frostburg State scored three times in the third period and tacked on seven more in the fourth.  A total of 15 different players found the back of the net for FSU.  Crowe played the first half and finished with nine saves. 

W&J aims to get back on track Saturday when hosting John Carroll at 1:00 pm at Alexandre Stadium.
