Bearcats edge Presidents in PAC Championship rematch

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Saint Vincent led 4-2 at halftime and hung on to defeat Washington & Jefferson 7-5 Thursday night in a rematch of the 2013 Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse championship match won by the Presidents.

The Bearcats (4-8) scored the first two goals of the game before Casey Smallwood got the Presidents (5-10) on the board at the 7:58 mark of the first quarter.  With his 59th appearance in a W&J uniform, Smallwood tied Joseph Eck '13 for the W&J record for career games played.

The second quarter followed a similar path as SVC scored the first two goals of the period before Smallwood scored in the final minute to bring the Presidents to within 4-2.
