FULL RESULTSHIRAM, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's swimming & diving team improved to 11-2 overall after a pair of victories Saturday, while the men's squad defeated host Hiram 111-88. Â The Presidents' women defeated the host Terriers 68-35, while also topping Franciscan 63-45 as a part of a double-dual meet. Â
The W&J men were led by
Ben Mancini's victories in the freestyle events as he posted a time of 4:39.24 in the 400 meters and 9:41.84 in the 800 meters. Â
Nick Willison helped the 200 medley relay team open with a win in a time of 1:57.72, while also capturing the 200-meter freestyle (2:04.38). Â
Matt Noel claimed two individual victories, touching first in the 50-meter freestyle (25.69) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:05.48). Â He also swam on the 200 medley relay team which took first place. Â
On the women's side,
Jenny Matuszewski led the 200 freestyle relay to a closing win in 2:05.23. Â Earlier, she swam a time of 1:04.50 to win the 100-meter freestyle. Â
Alexis Glenn earned the win in the 100-meter backstroke (1:12.59), while
Amber Miller was victorious in the 800-meter freestyle (10:32.03).
Jessica Sweitzer claimed the 400-meter freestyle event with a time of 4:56.00.
Haley Ashner (226.25 points, 1-meter) and
Jennifer Suder (228.90 points, 3-meter) swept the diving events. Â
