Six Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Six members of the Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving team earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), announced by the organization on Tuesday (April 1).
 
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
This year's honorees for the Presidents include Morgan Baughman (West Newton, Pa./Mount Pleasant), Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area), Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area), Audrey Kough (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg), Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) and Taylor Newton (Olyphant, Pa./Scranton Prep).
 
Baughman represents W&J as a CSC Academic All-America finalist. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 22, 2025 (women) and April 23, 2025 (men).
 
Baughman picks up Academic All-District honors for the first time. The sophomore holds a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average in business administration. Baughman finished with All-Presidents' Athletic Conference Second Team at the PAC Championships. Baughman raced to a top finish in the 100-yard freestyle, taking seventh with a time of 56.29. She also aided in a multitude of top three placements in the relay events.
 
Harden holds a 3.87 cumulative grade-point average in physics. This is the sophomore's first Academic All-District honor. Harden took a top finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.38 to place fifth at the PAC Championships to cap his sophomore campaign.
 
Jeffries has a combined 3.71 grade-point average with his history major. The sophomore earns the Academic All-District honor for the first time in the 2024-25 academic year. Jeffries capped the year as an All-PAC Second Team selection after his performances in the relay events at the conference championships.
 
Kough reprises Academic All-District honors for the second time in as many years. The junior holds a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average in political science. The women's swimming & diving captain represented W&J on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
 
Marks earns his first Academic All-District honors as a sophomore. The sophomore sprinter holds a 3.69 cumulative grade-point average in accounting. Marks picked All-PAC Second Team honors following his performance at the PAC Championships, aiding his units top three in all of the relay events.
 
Newton joins Kough in achieving her second All-District honors. The sole senior on the women's team holds a 3.86 cumulative grade-point average in communication arts. Newton wrapped her final season in Red & Black as an All-PAC Honorable Mention selection. The senior distance swimmer's best finish came in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:39.23 to place 10th at the PAC Championships.
