TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving team's
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Swimming Newcomer of the Week, announced by the conference Tuesday (Nov. 26). This marks the third time this season Yuan has been awarded PAC Newcomer of the Week this season.
Yuan posted three individual top-10 finishes and five overall at the Malone Invitational. Yuan kicked off the three-day event with a fifth-place finish in the 400 IM with a mark of 4:12.89 and tied for 10th in the 200 IM, racing to a 1:59.22 mark. Yuan concluded the invite with a sixth-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:57.76. All three of his times in those events currently rank first in the conference this season.
Yuan also swam laps on the 400 medley relay (fifth, 3:38.85) and 800 free relay (ninth, 7:35.54).
Swimming & Diving hosts the W&J Diving Invite on Friday (Dec. 6) before traveling to Latrobe to face the Saint Vincent Bearcats the following day, Saturday (Dec. 7). The diving invite is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
