W&J Swimming & Diving comes away with pair of wins at home

How it Happened: The Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned home to face off against Pitt-Bradford following three consecutive road meets. The teams both came away with wins against Pitt-Bradford, with the men scoring 150-121 and the women winning 102-74.
 
Top Performers: A team-high four wins were held by Austin Ables and Zach Lauer for the men. Not only were Ables and Lauer both a part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:42.43), but Ables also took the 200 freestyle (1:56.89) and the 100 freestyle, while Lauer finished first in the 50 backstroke (26.49) and the 200 backstroke (56.26).
 
Laura Travers led the women with a trio of first place finishes, winning the 100 butterfly (1:06.08) and the 500 freestyle (5:33.43) while also assisting in the 200 medley relay win (1:58.24).
 
Haley Ashner topped women's diving in both events with a score of 205.95 in the one meter and 165.95 in the three meter.
 
Josh Vasko led men's diving in both events as well, scoring 240.25 in the one meter and 205.25 in the three meter.
 
The Rest: For the men, Kevin Dunigan was awarded a hat trick of first place finishes. Individually he timed 29.14 in the 50 breaststroke, while also assisting in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. Chonghwi Yoon came away with an individual win in 50 freestyle (24.98) and was also a part of a team win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.00). Matt Noel contributed with two relay wins, the first in the 200 medley relay and the second in the 200 freestyle relay.
 
For the women, Madison Babicka, Rachel Murphy, Alexis Glenn and Ann O'Connor all posted a pair of wins. Murphy, Glenn, and O'Connor were all a part of the winning 200 medley relay team along with Travers. While individually Murphy timed 30.03 in the 50 backstroke, Glenn finished with a 1:03.23 in the 100 backstroke, and O'Connor held first in 100 individual medley at 1:06.42. Babicka came away with 200 freestyle (2:10.89) and 100 freestyle (58.14).
 
What's Next: The Presidents will remain at home and return to PAC play when they take on Saint Vincent on Dec. 5 at 1:00 pm.
