How it Happened: Washington & Jefferson's men's and women's swim team both achieved wins over Chatham to open this season's Presidents' Athletic Conference play.
Top Finishers: On the women's side,
Rachel Murphy secured first place in three events: 200 individual medley (2:21.22), 100 backstroke (1:03.76), and contributed to the 200 medley relay win (1:57.12) along with
Alexis Glenn,
Rachel Nye, and
Madison Babicka. The Presidents' men were led by Freshman
Jack King, taking the 200 freestyle (1:53.59), the 500 freestyle (5:06.88), and assisting in the first place win in 200 freestyle relay (1:32.93) with
Hayden Young,
Austin Ables, and
Gordy Schroeder.
The Rest: Jenny Matuszewski once again had victories in multiple events, timing at 11:35.72 in the 1000 freestyle and 5:39.19 in the 500 freestyle.
Nicholas Willison placed first in both the 50 freestyle (22.47) and the 100 backstroke (55.12).
Josh Vasko led in the 1 meter dive with a score of 240.60, while
Theo Skoric took the 3 meter diving event with a score of 179.25.
What's Next: The men and women will travel out of the PAC to Buckhannon, W.Va. to take on West Virginia Wesleyan on Nov. 7 at 1:00 pm.
