How it Happened:Â The Washington & Jefferson swimming and diving teams split a home dual against York College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 12, as the women (5-0) were victorious, 156-138, while the men (2-2) fell, 166.5-117.5.

Top Finishers:
Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) powered the women's team to victory with three individual wins in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.57), 100-yard backstroke (1:02.83) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:04.42). For the men,
Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) led the way with two individual wins in the 50-yard backstroke (25.90) and the 100-yard individual medley (57.35).

Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) also had a strong showing for the women's team as she placed first in the 50-yard backstroke (30.12) and swam the first leg for the victorious 400-yard medley relay team (4:16.58) followed by
Ann O'Connor (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis), Glenn and
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington). Individually, Magyari won the 50-yard freestyle (25.85) while
Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) won the 50-yard butterfly (28.46) and
Laura Travers (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) placed first in the 500-yard freestyle (5.33.29). In women's diving,
Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) won the one-meter dive (222.30) while
Haley Ashner (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) won the three-meter dive (217.60). On the men's side,
Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) was victorious as an individual in the 50-yard freestyle (22.35) and was also the anchor for the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team (3.25.20 preceded by
Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Matt Noel (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and
Tim Kudrav (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills). In men's diving,
Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) won both the one-(234.25) and three-meter dives (241.46).
What's Next:Â The swimming and diving teams will get back in the pool on Wednesday, Nov. 16, when they host Westminster in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual at 6 p.m.
