How it Happened: The Washington & Jefferson women's swimming and diving team won its sixth straight meet to open the season with a 150-148 decision over Westminster, while the men's team fell, 181-111, on Wednesday night, Nov. 16.

Top Finishers: The women were led by
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) who won the 50- (25.38) and 100-yard freestyle events (55.47) while also swimming the final leg on the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay (1:41.26) with
Madison Babicka (Demotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley),
Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) and
Maris Leonard (Pittsburgh, Pa./Greensburg-Salem). The men were led by diver
Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) who won the one- (242.05) and three-meter dives (224.05).

The Rest: On the women's side,
Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) also won two individual events, placing first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.69) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.62) while
Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.64). In the diving events,
Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) won the one-meter dive (235.85) while
Haley Ashner (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) won the three-meter dive (227.90). For the men,
Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) won the 50-yard freestyle (22.28) while
Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) was victorious in the 100-yard individual medley (56.31).

What's Next:Â The Presidents will return to action on Friday, Nov. 18, when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the first day of the Carnegie Mellon Diving Invitational at 4 p.m.
