How it Happened: The Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swimming and diving teams were swept in a road dual meet at Saint Vincent on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Top Finishers: The women were led by
Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) who recorded two wins on the day in the 100 (1:03.00) and 200 backstroke (2:15.80). Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) also had a strong showing, combining for a score of 395.70 over two one-meter dive events which provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division III Diving Regionals. On the men's side,
Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) and
Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) both recorded first and second place finishes as Willison won the 200 backstroke (2:01.61) with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:49.88) while Lauer was victorious in the 200 individual medley (2:06.97) and second in the 200 backstroke (2:03.12).

The Rest:
Ann O'Connor (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) recorded the only other individual win on the women's side, placing first in the 200 individual medley (2:28.66).
Laura Travers (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson),
Claire Atherton (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) all recorded two second-place finishes. Travers was the runner-up in the 500 (5:42.13) and the 1,000 freestyle events (11:32.96) while Atherton placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:35.00) and 200 individual medley (2:34.67) and Magyari was second in the 50 (25.30) and 100 freestyle (55.88) events. For the men, Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) won the first one-meter dive (139.60) while
Isaac Penascino (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) won the second one-meter dive (186.72).
Tyler Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford),
Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) recorded one second-place finish each in the 1,000 freestyle (11:11.80), 100 freestyle (50.27) and 200 individual medley (2:10.32), respectively

What's Next:Â The swimming and diving teams will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 7, when they travel to Bethany for a 6 p.m. Presidents' Athletic Conference dual.
