How it Happened: The Washington & Jefferson women's swimming and diving team defeated Wheeling Jesuit, 141-87, while the men lost, 115-111, on Senior Day on Saturday, Jan. 28, to close out the regular season.

Top Performers:Â
Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) and
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) led the women's team with two individual wins apiece with McElhaney winning the 200 individual medley (2:21.82) and the 100 backstroke (1:04.55) while Magyari was victorious in the 200 freestyle (2:00.42) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.77). The men were led by
Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) who finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:03.87) and was the runner-up in the 100 backstroke (55.06).

The Rest: Madison Babicka (Demotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley) put forth a strong effort, winning the 50 freestyle (25.82) and swimming the first leg for the winning 200 free relay (1:48.18) along with
Paige Adams (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Tara O'Toole (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) and
Maris Leonard (Pittsburgh, Pa./Greensburg-Salem).
Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) finished first in the 100 freestyle (57.15) and recorded a second place finish in the 50 freestyle (25.93) while Leonard and
Claire Atherton (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:06.85) and the 1000 freestyle (12:17.32) events, respectively.
Haley Ashner (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) led the women's diving team with two wins in the one-meter (221.15) and the three-meter (220.00) events. On the men's side,
Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) was victorious in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.83) while
Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) and
Joshua Emde (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West) both recorded two second place finishes, Willison in the 50 (22.35) and 100 freestyles (49.43) and Emde in the 500 (5:06.64) and 1000 freestyles (10:33.26).
Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:51.36) while Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) led the men's divers with wins in the one-meter (217.85) and three-meter (207.95) events.

What's Next: The Presidents will travel to Grove City, Pa., on Wednesday, Feb. 8, for the first of four days of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships.
