WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson wrestling team recorded three pins in its 42-7 victory over Penn State Fayette on Senior Day at the Henry Memorial Center on Wednesday, Jan 30.

With the win tonight, the Presidents improve to 7-4 in dual matches. W&J also ends the home portion of its 2018-19 schedule with a perfect 2-0 record in duals.

Tonight's action began at 125 pounds, where Manny Dovshek (Scenery Hill, Pa./Bentworth) pinned Fayette's Doug Bittner in two minutes to put the Presidents ahead 6-0. The freshman from Scenery Hill, Pa. is now 25-12 on the year with a team-leading 19 wins by fall, which is tied for the second highest single-season total in W&J history.

Joining Dovshek with pins were Jaden Datz (Ruffs Dale, Pa./Southmoreland) and Marty Shulik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic). At 174 pounds, Datz logged a fall in 2:41 over Gannon Lenhart, his third pin of the year and 20th win overall. Shulik, one of two seniors to pick up a victory today, earned a fall over Alex Shafley (1:40) at 184 pounds to give the Presidents a commanding 36-4 lead.

Josh Armstrong (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) and Zach Schrott (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) both gutted out hard-fought decision victories. In his final home match, Armstrong topped Aaron Mylan by a 12-5 final score at 149 pounds. Schrott (157) defeated Tyler Steele by a score of 12-10 in overtime. The junior erased a 10-6 deficit in the final minute to force OT, where his takedown sealed the win.

Also logging victories on the evening were Daniel Florentino (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) (133), Jared Walker (McDonald, Pa. / South Fayette) (165) and Vinny Palm (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) (197) with forfeits in their respective matches.

Following tonight's dual, the Presidents will head to Berea, Ohio, to take part in the Baldwin Wallace John Summa Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2.
