WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The senior quartet of
Nick Belofsky (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora),
Andrew Ivory (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars),
Dean Kralic (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) and
Colin Higinbotham (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) won the final event of the meet, the 200-yard freestyle relay, to help W&J earn victory over Saint Vincent Saturday afternoon by a score of 128-117.
The win was the first for the W&J men over Saint Vincent since the 2012-13 season.
Preceding the meet, W&J honored Belofsky,
James Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside), Higinbotham, Ivory and Kralic for their hard work throughout the four years in Henry Memorial Natatorium.
The Presidents opened the meet with the quartet of Kralic,
Zishuo Ma (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos),
Nathan Smith (Fort Defiance, Va./Fort Defiance), and Higinbotham winning the 200-yard medley relay with their time of 1:41.55. Ivory followed with an indivudal victory in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning by more than 10 seconds with a time of 11:18.78.
Higinbotham was the only President to claim multiple individual wins. Higinbotham clocked in a 22.39 in the 50-yard freestyle and a 50.29 in the 100-yard freestyle. Higinbotham remains undefeated in 2020-21 in individual events.
Ma, a recent addition to the Red & Black swimming program, claimed his first individual win in his first meet this season. Ma touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke with his time of 1:02.70. Smith secured victory in the 100-yard butterfly with his time of 57.09. Additionally, Smith collected a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.27).
Kralic finished the meet with a pair of second place finishes, the first coming in the 500-yard freestyle (5:31.49) and the second in the 100-yard backstroke (58.89).
The Presidents have the rest of December off before returning back to Henry Natatorium on Jan. 15 to host non-PAC competitor Hiram. The meet is scheduled to start at 1 P.M.
