MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- A pair of first place finishes highlighted the Washington & Jefferson College's day one at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the West Virginia University Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.
Women
The W&J women currently sit in second place among eight teams. The Presidents racked up 24 points on day one.
Savannah Sevacko (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) claimed the PAC title in the Triple Jump. The freshman recorded a jump of 10.85 meters (35 ft, 7.25 in). Her teammate and classmate
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) finished as the runner-up in the Triple Jump at 10.47 meters (34 ft, 4.25 in).
Cassie Carr (Girard, Pa./Girard) finished fourth in 10,000 Meter Run (10K). Carr clocked in with a time of 40:30.
Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) was one of eight to qualify for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles. The freshman posted a time of 17.06 in preliminaries to finish fifth.
Alie Seto (Allison, Pa./Brownsville) finished eighth in the Discus Throw with a mark of 31.33 meters (102 ft, 9 in).
Naomi Hanna (New Kensington, Pa./Burrell) placed 10th in event with a toss of 28.69 meters (94 ft, 1 in).
Men
The W&J men sit in fourth place out of seven competing teams with 10 points.
Paul Collier (Heath, Ohio/Heath) ran away with the PAC title in the 10,000 Meter Run (10K). The sophomore finished with a time of 34:29 in the 10K, a time that allowed him to win by more than 19 seconds.
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) was one of eight to qualify for the finals in the 110-meter hurdles. Baughman posted a time of 16.37 that put him fourth in the preliminary round.
Jack Ryan (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) was one of eight to qualify for the finals in the 100-meter dash. The senior posted a time of 11.72 that put him seventh in the preliminary round.
Day two of competition at the PAC Championships starts Friday at 2 p.m.
