LATROBE, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team opened its fall season with a 9-0 loss to Saint Vincent College Thursday evening at the Saint Vincent College tennis courts in Latrobe.
The match was contested as a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference match, as the conference holds its conference season during the spring.
Joseph Panahandeh (Murrysville, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) put together the best effort for the Presidents, as the newcomer dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision at the No. 6 singles spot.
W&J returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 4 when they head to Meadville, Pa. to face Allegheny College. The Presidents and Gators will start the match at 1 p.m.
