GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Washington & Jefferson College Track & Field team finished with 30 top 10 finishes at the Thiel Invitational in Mercer County on Saturday.
Men
Nate Sciarro (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) won the long jump with his leap of 6.75 meters. Additionally, Sciarro placed third in the high jump with his jump of 1.75 meters.
Aden Dressler (Evans City, Pa./Butler) claimed first in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:03.99.
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) won the 1500 with his new personal-best time by 10 seconds of 4:04.89, just beating out teammate,
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth-Center), who finished with a new personal-best time by 13 seconds with a 4:05.63.
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) ran to a fourth place finish (4:11.41) while
Max Donaty (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) finished in seventh with a 4:29.91. Paul's new personal-best sits him at number three in W&J history.
Paul then finished third in the 800 (2:02.40) while
Clay Yeager (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) ran to a fifth place finish with a 2:05.66. Sinclair finished seventh (2:07.04) while Dressler placed ninth (2:11.66).
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) ran to a third place finish in the 110 hurdles with his time of 16.06 seconds.
Nick Millison (Salem, Ohio/South Range) finished seventh in the 5000 with a time of 17:35.06.
Women
Faith Remich (New Kensington, Pa./Burrell) won the 800 meters with a 2:26.85. Remich finished fourth in the 1500 meters with her time of 5:04.80.
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) placed as runner-up in the 400 hurdles with a 1:09.14.
Cassie Carr (Girard, Pa./Girard) placed second in her first 5K this outdoor season with a time of 18:46.94. That mark moves Carr up to number two in W&J outdoor history.
Maddie Simpson (Washington, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) paced W&J in the javelin, placing third with her heave of 33.65 meters.
Gianna Platt (Pittsburgh, Pa./OLSH) finished in fifth with her personal-best too by four meters of 31.32 meters while
Kiersten Walther (Washington, Pa./Trinity) heaved a new season-best of 28.59 meters to place her sixth, respectively.
Taylor Johnson (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) ran a season-best time of 1:06.03 in the 400 dash to finish in fourth while
Ali Petrisek (Ellsworth, Pa./Bentworth) finished with a new seasonal-best of 1:06.65 to place sixth for the Presidents.
W&J will compete at the Bethany Mini-Meet on Wednesday, April 20. The meet is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
