WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson swimming & diving programs closed the home portion of its schedule Saturday afternoon when they hosted Grove City College at Henry Memorial Natatorium.
The Grove City women prevailed by a 139-45 score while the Wolverines took the men's meet by a 121-78 margin.
Nathan Smith (Fort Defiance, Va. / Fort Defiance) finished first in the 100 Backstroke, as he logged a time of 57.59. Smith was the runner-up with a time of 55.53 in the 100 Butterfly.
Aidan Miller (Grove City, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) finished second in the 1650 Freestyle (18:13.36) event. Miller also finished third in the 100 Butterfly (59.44).
Alex Lee (Los Angeles, Calif. / Eagle Rock) registered a second place performance in the 50 Freestyle. Lee logged a time of 23.58 to claim a runner-up effort. Lee was also second in the 100 Free at 52.30.
Melvin McRae (Lillington, N.C. / Overhills) claimed the one-meter diving with a total score of 159.50. McRae was also first in the three-meter diving with a total score of 147.90.
Amanda Graves (Irwin, Pa./Penn Trafford) logged a time of 1:09.36 to finish first in the 100 Backstroke. Graves tacked on a second place effort in the 200 Back with a time of 2:30.55.
Morgan McGuire (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) was slotted second in the 100 Back at 1:13.07. McGuire was third in the 200 Backstroke (2:38.50).
Sydney Neumann (Long Beach, Calif. / Millikan) placed second in the 100 Breaststroke (1:16.46). Neumann logged a time of 2:48.60 to score second in the 200 Breaststroke (2:48.60).
The W&J women were second in the 200 Medley Relay. McGuire, Neumann, Graves and
Audrey Kough (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg) raced to a time of 2:08.47 in the event.
W&J honored Lee for its Senior Day festivities in conjunction for the meet.
