Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team used a strong all-around effort to earn a 10-3 victory over host Heidelberg University Saturday afternoon at Hoernemann Stadium.
The Presidents limited the opportunities for Heidelberg in the victory. W&J jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. W&J used first quarter goals by
Parker Lucas (Delmar, Del. / Delmar) and
Zach Mey (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette), as they each found the back of the net. Through some great ball movement and execution by W&J, the Presidents were able to tack on two assists with their early goals from
Carter Watts (Gilbertsville, Pa. / Boyertown) and
Paul Shook (Camp Hill, Pa. / Trinity).
In the second quarter, the Presidents tacked on a late goal before the half to take a three-goal lead heading into the half. The late goal scored by
Ronin Keane (Medford, Mass. / Arlington Catholic) which was assisted by Watts, had been set up by Mey after causing a turnover by Heidelberg.
Coming out of the half, it was more of the same for each side as Heidelberg couldn't find much rhythm on the offensive end while the Presidents tacked on three more goals. Lucas and Mey both added another goal to their totals on the day while
Sean Berardino (Millersville, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) added an unassisted goal quickly after Heidelberg scored their first goal of the game. W&J led 6-1 heading to the fourth quarter.
In the fourth,
Zach Mey added two more goals to finish the day with a game-high four scores.
Carter Watts and
Sean McCaffrey (Silver Spring, Md. / Albert Einstein) each added their first goals of the game in the fourth quarter as the Presidents coasted to victory.

Levi Krebs (Sewickley, Pa. / Pine Richland) both led the Presidents in caused turnovers with two each. Krebs had a game-high eight ground balls.
Noah Bracco (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic) posted 12 saves and allowed just three goals over 60 minutes of work in goal.
