TRAFFORD, Pa. -- A pair of Washington & Jefferson College seniors,
Kaitlyn Brown (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) and
Sofia Jenkins (Hughesville, Md./The Calverton School), earned weekly honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tuesday afternoon.
Jenkins took home Offensive Player of the Week while Brown was lauded as Defensive Player of the Week.
Jenkins keyed a pair of wins last week for the Presidents. The senior totaled six goals, including the game-winning goal in both games, six assists and 10 draw controls in wins over Marietta and Allegheny. Jenkins had two goals, four assists and six draw controls in a 22-12 win over Marietta on Wednesday. The senior then posted a game-high six points with four goals, two assists and four draw controls in a 12-11 PAC road victory over Allegheny Saturday.
Brown totaled 23 saves and 10 ground balls last week to help W&J to road wins over Marietta and Allegheny. Brown matched her season-high with 14 saves and scooped seven ground balls Wednesday in a win over the Pioneers. The senior then made nine saves, including two in the final four minutes, in a one-goal victory at Allegheny on Saturday.
W&J hosts Bethany College for a conference game on Wednesday, April 3. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
