Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team fell 8-1 to the top-seeded Grove City Wolverines in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Presidents claimed their sole victory at doubles one with the sophomore tandem of Jackson Akers (Logan, W. Va. / Logan) and Alex Duing (South Park, Pa. / South Park) defeating Jose Leon and Josiah Newton 8-6. At doubles two, Abhinav Yarramaneni (Mountain View, Calif. / Los Altos) and Nick Bussard (New Kensington, Pa. / Valley) entered a competitive match but were edged out 8-5 by Gavin Miller and Jameson Sposato.
W&J dropped all six singles matches, with Yarrameni giving a commendable finish at singles three with a 1-6 and 5-7 final score.
The Red & Black travels to Waynesburg on Sunday, April 7 to compete against the Yellow Jackets in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.
