Sofia Jenkins to represent W&J at 2024 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Recent Washington & Jefferson College graduate Sofia Jenkins (Hughesville, Md./The Calverton School) has been one of 44 Division III representatives chosen to compete in the 2024 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game.

"We're extremely proud to have Sofia represent our program at this year's IWLCA Senior All-Star game," W&J head coach Alison Valerio said. "Her record-breaking season capped off an amazing career at W&J and she is most deserving of this opportunity."

The IWLCA announced the rosters for the 2024 Senior All-Star games for Division I, II, and III on Wednesday. The players selected in each Division have been divided into two teams: North and South. The Senior All-Star games will be held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 1. The Division III teams will cap off the tripleheader event with their game at 3 pm. Admission for all three games is free of charge. Please note that the Senior All-Star games will not be streamed.

Jenkins recently wrapped up a decorated career competing for the Red and Black. She received major recognition as the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and All-PAC First Team. In addition, Jenkins picked up All-Region status from the IWLCA as a Second Team member in the Boardwalk Region.

Jenkins led the PAC with a W&J single-season record 55 assists. That total ranks as 14th most in Division III. The 55 assists surpassed her previous school record mark of 40 from the 2023 season.

Her 95 points, which equaled the W&J single-season school record, ranked as second most in the PAC. Jenkins was also the team leader with 65 draw controls. She added 22 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in 2024.

Her 11 points in a 20-13 win over Chatham on April 10 were a single-game career high.

She wrapped up her career ranking first in program history with 139 assists, third with 236 points and fifth with 161 draw controls. Jenkins earned All-PAC honors three times.

Jenkins is the first W&J student-athlete to be selected to participate in the IWLCA Division III All-Star game since Caroline Kallos did so in 2018.
