Five Presidents Earn CSC Men’s Soccer Academic All-District Team Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five members of the Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team earned five spots on the 2025 College Sports Communications Academic All-District® Team.
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games or starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
 
Securing spots on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team included Jimmy Gogol (Westminster, Md./Westminster), Ethan Bowser (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward), Tavan Schoenberger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown), Owen Rowlands (Hazle Township, Pa./Wyoming Seminary Prep), and Chris Davis (Toms Brook, Va./Strasburg).
 
Bowser and Gogol each have been selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists. The duo will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. Voting closes Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 11:59 PM (ET).
 
Gogol, a three-year starter for the Presidents, has earned his second Academic All-District® honor. Gogol holds a 3.87 GPA in engineering and physics. He led the team with seven goals this season, including five game-winners. The junior captain finished his career with 18 goals, tied for eighth all-time in career goals at W&J, and 41 total points. In the classroom, Gogol has been recognized to the Alpha Lambda Delta, Sigma Pi Sigma honor societies, and has made the Dean's List every semester.
 
Bowser had two game-winning goals and two assists, starting in all 19 games this season. The tenured captain held down the midfield for four seasons with W&J, amassing 11 career assists. This is Bowser's first Academic All-District® selection. He holds a 3.54 GPA in biology with an emphasis on biomedical science and a minor in psychology. Bowser has been on the Dean's List for five semesters.
 
Rowlands started in all 19 games this season for the Presidents attacking line, scoring three goals for a total of six points. Rowlands has made appearances in all three seasons for W&J and has totaled over 1500 minutes on the pitch. This is the first Academic All-District® selection for Rowlands. He holds a 3.69 GPA in psychology.
 
This is the second time that Schoenberger has been selected for the CSC Academic All-District® Team. Schoenberger appeared in all 19 games this season for the Presidents, starting 18 of them. He has made starts in matches during all three seasons of his time at W&J. Shoenberger has one assist this season. In the classroom, Schoenberger holds a 4.00 GPA in accounting.
 
Davis made appearances on the Presidents back line in all 19 games this season, starting in 10 of them. Davis appeared in all the Presidents' seven shutouts this season. The sophomore played just over 900 minutes this season and scored his first collegiate goal. Davis currently holds a 3.76 GPA in physics. This is his first selection to the Academic All-District® Team.  
 
W&J has placed at least one men's soccer student-athlete on the Academic All-District Teams in eight consecutive years.
