15 Presidents Selected to All-PAC Swimming & Diving Teams

TRAFFORD, Pa. – After a productive 2024-25 campaign, the Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams earned all-conference honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference when the league announced its honorees and award winners Friday (March 7). A total of 15 members of W&J's men's and women's teams were selected to the All-PAC teams, accounting for more than half of the combined rosters.

Nine members of the men's team earned All-PAC honors. Earning All-PAC First Team honors were Logan Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) and Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)). Selected to the All-PAC Second Team were swimmers Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward), Brian Lowry (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology), Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin), March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park), Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area), Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and Aidan Miller (Grove City, Ohio/St. Charles Prep).

L. Marks capped his swimming career with W&J as a back-to-back PAC champion. The senior captain was crowned the 200-yard breaststroke champion after swimming to a first-place finish by milliseconds with a time of 2:06.19. Marks also finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.37.

Weeks ago, Lloyd earned the PAC's Men's Diver of the Year award and First Team All-PAC honors in his first conference championship meet. Lloyd finished the second day of the conference championships with an NCAA regionally qualifying score of 452.10, which crowned him as the 2024-25 PAC 1-Meter Diving Champion. Lloyd completed the sweep in the 3-meter dive with a score of 362.25 to be crowned champion. Those totals helped him meet the qualifying standards on both boards for the NCAA Division III Region 4 (Northeast/South) at Ithaca.

At his first NCAA Diving Regionals appearance, Lloyd finished 18th in the 3-meter dive with 324.85 points on Friday's session. The freshman totaled 392.55 points in the 1-meter dive to place 12th of 18. The last time a W&J diver made it to regionals was in 2021-22, when women's diver Taylor Weyrich journeyed to Ithaca, N. Y.

Glessner, Jeffries, Lowry, A. Marks, and Miller all made their impact in the relay events. W&J finished top three in all of the relay swimming events.

Yuan and Lohr took care of business in the butterfly events along with the individual medley events. Yuan logged fourth place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard IM with respective times of 1:59.14 and 4:13.66. Lohr's best finish came in the 200-yard butterfly where he placed fifth with a time of 2:03.02.

Six members of the women's team were selected as All-PAC honorees. Luna Balzano (El Portal, Fla./Broward Virtual School) led the way for the women as the sole swimmer on the All-PAC First Team list. Four women earned Second Team honors including Amiyah White (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area), Sophia Garrett (Cincinnati, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy), Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) and Morgan Baughman (West Newton, Pa./Mount Pleasant). Taylor Newton (Olyphant, Pa./Scranton Prep) round out W&J's All-Conference selections by earning a slot on the All-PAC Honorable Mention list.

Balzano capped a stellar sophomore season at the conference championships, earning multiple trips to the podium. Her best finish came in the 100-yard butterfly as the sophomore sprinter took second with a personal-best time of 59.72. Balzano also placed third in both the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly with respective personal-best times of 24.91 and 2:17.14.

White finished on the All-PAC Second Team as the sole W&J women's diver competing at the conference championships. White continues the rich history of skilled W&J women's divers in her first season, taking home a second-place finish. The freshman finished as the runner up in the 1-meter dive with a score of 282.05 in the finals. White also took a crack in the swimming events, logging a personal-best time of 32.25 in the 50-yard freestyle preliminary rounds.

Malone and Baughman earned their first All-PAC Second Team honors while Garrett adds her second designation to her repertoire. Garrett's best finishes came in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes, placing fourth in each with respective times of 1:02.07 and 2:15.82. Baughman raced to a top finish in the 100-yard freestyle, taking seventh with a time of 56.29. Malone held down the breaststroke and individual medley events for W&J, racing to a best finish in the 200-yard breaststroke to finish sixth with a time of 2:38.23. All three swimmers helped the Presidents race to a multitude of top three placements in the relay events.

Newton wrapped the All-PAC representation from W&J from the 2024-25 season. The senior distance swimmer's best finish came in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:39.23 to place 10th as an All-PAC Honorable Mention honoree.

The 2024-25 All-PAC Swimming and Diving teams accounted for 41 student-athletes on the men's side and 43 women earning recognition for their performances at PAC Championships. The all-conference swimming and diving teams are determined by a formula-based selection process using student-athletes' individual and relay finishes at the league's annual championships.

The PAC also released its 2024-25 Swimming & Diving Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.

Representing W&J on the PAC Sportsmanship Team were Miller and Audrey Kough (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg).
