TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College freshman Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Football Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Oct. 5).

Wagner was a catalyst for W&J compiling 648 total offensive yards (293 passing and 355 rushing), the most in a single game since the 2015 season, in their 55-0 victory over Geneva. Wagner, the first W&J freshman to start at quarterback since 2013 (Pete Coughlin), passed for 218 yards, going 16-for-24, with four touchdowns and also finished with 37 yards on the ground. He connected on TD throws of 21, 28 and 27 yards in the first half to put the Presidents up 35-0 at the half and added an 11-yard scoring strike in the third quarter.

The Presidents return to Cameron Stadium next Saturday (Oct. 10) for their annual homecoming game. Kickoff against the Bethany Bison is set for 2:00 p.m.
