ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson wrestling team posted a 1-3 record at the Mount Union duals.
The Presidents move to 1-4 in dual meets this season after dropping a 21-15 decision against John Carroll, 30-7 to Baldwin Wallace and 44-4 to the host Purple Raiders. W&J was victorious in a 48-0 romp against Muskingum.
Jacob Spearman won on a major decision, 10-1, in the 133-pound weight class against Baldwin Wallace. Spearman also posted a major decision win against John Carroll and forfeit win vs Muskingum.
Samuel Florentino then posted an 8-4 decision at 157 pounds against the Yellow Jackets. He also was victorious in a decision against the Muskies.
Sonnieboy Blanco posted the W&J victory against Mount Union with a 21-7 major decision at the 174-pound class. Blanco also posted a major decision win against John Carroll.
Other winners from the Muskingum and John Carroll matches were
Trevor Meyers who won via fall at 149 against the Muskies,
William Oberschelp who posted a decision at 197 versus Muskingum and
Yamil Cristobal-Perez, twice victorious by decision at 285.
The Presidents are back in action at an invitational hosted by the Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.
