WHEELING, W.Va. -- Washington & Jefferson College had four individual winners Saturday, but was swept in a dual meet at Wheeling Jesuit. The Cardinals earned a 141.5-108 men's triumph, while the women's team defeated the Presidents 147-114.Â
The W&J men (6-5-1) were paced by freshmen
Chris Ratliff and
Nick Willison. Ratliff claimed the 100 freestyle (50.40) and Willison touched first in the 100 backstroke (55.83).Â
Jessica Sweitzer was the Presidents' lone double winner as she paced the women's squad (10-4) with victories in the 100 (55.25) and 200 (2:02.33) freestyle events.Â
Zoe Levenson added a first-place touch in the 50 freestyle (28.49).Â
The Presidents are now idle for 10 days before starting the 2014 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships at Grove City.Â
